Counseling Philosophy

treatment 1The philosophy of my practice is drawn from several different treatment approaches with an appreciation for the whole person. I bring an understanding of the physical, psychological, spiritual, and social dimensions of the human person. The treatment I provide is a respectful collaboration that is driven by the relationship rather than the theory.

Counseling is a collaborative relationship that requires a degree of comfort for both the counselor and the patient. If we agree that we are able to work together, I will help you through the process of discovering the answers to the concerns you bring to our sessions.

Our first session is a time for you to talk about your concerns and goals you would like to achieve. It is a time for you to learn about my approach to counseling and determine if we will be able to work together. It is also a time for me to gather some basic history about you. Referral to another counselor will be provided if needed.

Subsequent sessions will be a time for you to talk about whatever is on your mind. We are not limited to concerns and goals identified in the first session. I will follow your lead and help you discover your inner strengths.

I wish to welcome you to my practice. Feel free to contact me with any questions.
